Sonic Adventure - 90%

If you've already dug deep into your funds to get yourself a Dreamcast, you're going to buy Sonic Adventure anyway. Despite many regrettable aspects (Big Cats fishing adventures are slightly less exciting than looking at grass, though graphically pleasing) it is the first genuinely must-have game available for Sega's kick-bum console, with its eye-candy-style graphics, loveable characters, funky badly-translated Japanese music and tooth-gnawing challenges, there are few games more likely to have you playing well past Christmas like Sonic Adventure. Just turn down the volume whenever Amy Rose starts speaking, and you're away!

Ready 2 Rumble Boxing - 89%

Midway has put together a true champ of a boxing game, which deserves to do well. Make no mistake. Ready 2 Rumble is no punch-drunk hitter, but a right swinger that will keep you in the ring well into 2000! Check out this heavy-weight beauty.

Sega Rally 2 - 91%

Sega Rally 2 may not be the best racing game to hit the console — Sony PlayStation's Gran Turismo still holds that honour — but the arcade action is unrivalled and is a must buy for anyone looking for a painless introduction into the racing genre.

Virtua Fighter 3tb - 93%

So there you have it, an arcade perfect conversion of a brilliant game. Yeah, it may not be the best one-player game in the world, but if you've got some mates then Virtua Fighter 3tb is the game for you!

The House of the Dead 2 - 91%

This is one of a few titles worth owning a Dreamcast for on its own, especially with the amazingly good lightgun to play it with - blast some zombies today!

Power Stone - 92%

The level of detail in Power Stone is what will really impress — the backgrounds, animation and moves are really slick, just what you would expect from a state-of-the-art console! Mark our words, Power Stone is a very special game with a wealth of gameplay rarely seen in beat-'em-ups. A fighting game that will oust the mighty Street Fighter!

Millennium Soldier: Expendable - 80%

This game is never going to win any prizes for depth or originality but I can thoroughly recommend it to all Dreamcast owners. The shoot-'em-up has long been a neglected genre and it's good to see it back at the forefront of gaming!

Hydro Thunder - 79%

All in all, if you're mad about water but can't wait for Get Bass to be released, you've got to rush out and buy Hydro Thunder before I finish this senten...
