Comments
Game Title | Comments |
---|---|
Tekken 3 | As tasty as pie, as steaming as steam and as barking as dogs. A fat mule of a game that is the ultimate fighter of all time. It'll live forever. |
International Superstar Soccer '98 | Harder than Ince, smarter than Hod and with more touches of genius than 90 minutes of Owen. FIFA can blub all it likes, this is the champ. |
International Superstar Soccer Pro '98 | Lacking the pizazz of any FIFA product, ISS '98 wins out thanks to its playability and beacuse it's more fun at the end of the day, Des. |
X-Men vs. Street Fighter | Solid stuff for fans of Capcom's 2D scrappers but the cut down tag team and poor animation make this an unconvincing conversion. |
Command & Conquer: Red Alert - Retaliation | If you're a fan of strategic hi-jinx then Retaliation should find pride of place in your collection. Shoot-em-up fans should steer well clear. |
Wild 9 | Cool looking and laced with violence, this is the best odd game since Abe's. It's still a 2D platformer with neat touches, though. |
WWF Warzone | WWF Warzone comes close to bridging the gap between beat-em-up and wrestler than any other grappler. Fun, frantic and flabby. |
Shining Force III | Shining Force 3 is a worthy enough strategy RPG but an English version of the action RPG Grandia would have been a lot better. |
Urban Assault | A most surprising marriage but one that should be harmonious and lends a new angle to the endless 3D shooters and wargame clones. |
Jimmy White's 2: Cueball | The closest you'll get to the real thing without wearing a tasteless waistcoat and having your personality removed. |
Chopper Attack | There aren't many airborne combat games on the N64 but this still doesn't rate as a must have title. Fun, but flawed. |
Wild Arms | Wild Arms may look 16-Bit at first but there's a wealth of gameplay and it tends to lunge into graphical excellence during fight scenes. |
Super Match Soccer | Sneaked out on the quiet by Acclaim, don't be fooled into thinking that you've found a bargain when you see it in the bargain bin. |
Rock 'n Roll Racing 2: Red Asphalt | The racing is substandard and the weapons action feels like it's been bolted on as an afterthought. Shame, it should've been a classic. |
Ayrton Senna Kart Duel 2 | One of the worst racers we've found for a long time. Its slow pace and short tracks spell a lack of action and excitement. |
James Bond 007 | Bond is back in style. A must have title for the Game Boy. It's a sort of modern day Zelda which you're going to love. |
Cruis'n World | An appalling racer and one that should never have been released into the community. It doesn't help the N64's battle with the PSX. |
You Don't Know Jack | It's as mad as a skinned banana and funnier than your gran in the nuddy. Comes into its own when you've got a group of mates round. |
Arcade's Greatest Hits: The Atari Collection 2 | Why bother? This is just hoping to cash in on the few people who can actually remember when these games ruled the earth. |
V-Rally Championship Edition | Two modes don't offer much in the way of variety and the handling needs to be more realistic. But it's fun and a refreshing change. |
