MEGA Issue 1 | Mega CD | Neil West | 41% | What this all boils down to, then, is that while Prince Of Persia is a great game which will make your friends go "Woof!" for five minutes, you'll get, firstly, annoyed and, secondly, bored with it before you're halfway through it. Below the surface it's pretty thin material for a game, and although it's beautifully done, all this style-over-content stuff isn't what we really want to see from this potentially astounding bit of kit. There, I said it. |

Prince of Persia is the ultimate action/adventure game and hopefully we'll see more games like this in the future. |

If you've never played Prince of Persia it's a great game, and this is a respectable version with basically the same levels as all the other Prince of Persia's (and some great music) with exception to the Super Famicom version. |

Sega Zone Issue 1 | Master System | Patrick McCarthy | 91% | The thing that sets POP apart from other games is the extra tension introduced by the time element. You find yourself hurrying through areas you should be taking your time in, and that's usually when you come a cropper. It's one of those games that no matter how many times you've seen it, you can't help but play it - it's that addictive. I was checking it out for the review at home, and when I looked up it was 2am - I couldn't help it. It simply oozes gameplay and excitement. "It's always been a brilliant game, it still is a brilliant game, and it probably always will be a brilliant game.' (© Paul Lakin, 1992.) |
